I was recently on a trip to Tupelo Mississippi and stopped in Birmingham, Alabama on the way home. I caught up with some friends from Church of the Highlands. They are working on a plan to help a fire department in a suburb of Birmingham. The locality is facing bankruptcy and the station has fallen into disrepair after a flooding issue. As many of you know, I was a professional fireman for 10 years. So this one hits my heart.
When I got home I made some calls. I’m excited to announce we have a team of volunteers lined up that will be heading to Alabama later this month to help! This will be our first 516 Project team serving outside Virginia!!
Here at home 516 Project Ministry has had some great sponsors step up for 2019. As you saw above, we’ve already completed a full bathroom renovation and we’ll be fixing Ms. Mary’s roof tomorrow. We were planning to do it today, but the rain held us off. We also have two other roofs that are pending funding, but we are hoping and praying to get them done by end of February. I have a meeting tomorrow to confirm a donation that will help greatly toward getting one of them fully funded.
Our Anniversary Celebration is coming up on February 20th. We are celebrating 3 years of sharing the love of Jesus with those in need! We hope you’ll join us to celebrate from 6-9pm at 718 Venue in downtown Fredericksburg.
